President's Message Ken A. Wilson, MAI Why Goldrush? I'm often asked why we chose this unusual name for an appraisal company. It's a different name, but we are also a different kind of company. We selected "Goldrush" during our founding in 1999 when we read a news item referring to California's job and housing boom as the "gold rush of 1999." In the entrepreneurial spirit of the original '49ers and our contemporary '99ers, we set out to start something unique. With a name like Goldrush we knew that we couldn't be a run-of-the-mill appraisal shop. And we aren't. What we are is a small collection of highly experienced specialists in the field of multi-family and complex residential valuation services. The firm's members have an average of more than 20 years in this business and all hold the prestigious MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute. We do not employ trainees or inexperienced staff members for our assignments. Each project is carefully and meticulously handled by a highly trained expert. Because we believe that when you hire an expert you should get more than just that expert's signature over an underling's work. We limit our practice to multi-family and complex residential properties. This allows us to focus on trends that are specific to this market segment not only locally but regionally and nationally, as well. This allows us to provide wider geographic coverage for our clients and also helps us to better identify broad market shifts that may, in turn, impact the local markets we cover.
